About

…this review blog

The tramways and railways of the counties of Monmouthshire (Gwent from 1974), Mid and South Glamorgan were highly innovative and of significant historical importance. The purpose of this blog is to review the books dealing with rail transport (in its widest sense) of South East Wales.

The books will include newly published volumes along with those of the past still readily available on the second market. In addition, along with materials such as articles, diagrams and maps associated with the books I hope that it will fulfill a secondary aim of building up a resource for the subject.

An essential aspect of book reviews is that no two people approach the task in exactly the same way. Consequently, with a large number of internet book review blogs it is possible to gain a different perspective from each one.

Each review will give a choice; a text review or a slightly more in-depth audio review. Each will take only about 2 or 3 minutes of your time.

I hope you find the content of this blog useful and entertaining.

…me

My name is Mark, an E-Learning content author and railway enthusiast, I was born and raised in Tredegar, Gwent and now live in the Midlands. When not earning a living, I am interested in politics and model railways.

Apart from books on railway history I like science books (especially astronomy) and works by the ancient Roman statesman and writer Cicero. In fiction I enjoy the authors Robert Harris and Philip Pullman.
